LOVE, RAP AND MAGIC

I guess it's time I write a blog. I'll just pretend that someone is actually reading it.

I've been on quite a few releases recently. First off, there's the new EP by myself (The Mole) and German producer The Chukchee. It's called "Why Not Try" and I think it's pretty good. This also happens to be the only official Motion Recordings release in like 2 years. Get it here and please drop me a donation if you think what I'm doing is worth anything to you.

The ultra-nerdy online rapper hangout, The Motherboard (which I helped to birth), has released it's second compilation. This one is really nicely mastered and carefully hand-picked by Motherboard honcho Selfhelp, with perty art by grandmaster Thesis Sahib. It has something like 90 minutes of what I'll call "progressive/alternative rap and hip hop". I'm on it, and so is Demune, and many others including 2Mex of The Visionaries, Life Rexall of The Shapeshifters, Riddlore of Project Blowed, and DJ Mayonnaise of Anticon. (Dropping those names and links makes my blog show up in more searches, you dig?) Download it for free here.

Another free compilation including me is nomar slevik's SURVIVAL: True Stories from the Underground. This release from SIQ Records features a bunch of slightly weird underground rappers, such as Noah23, Brzowski, and Myn Dwun.

French electronic producer Debmaster has just released his new album, Marvelous Dump, on Hip Notik Records. It's mainly instrumental "dance music for idiots" but it features a few vocal guests including myself (on the previously limited-released song "Suicide City") and Existereo of Candy's .22. You can buy or listen to the whole album online here.

I just found out that I was featured on a couple tracks of the Wild X-Mas With Bomarr, Vol. 3 compilation. It's a collection of kooky Christmas tunes compiled by Anticon's Bomarr (previously known as The Bomarr Monk). You can download it for free here.

Here's some chaotic video footage of an equally chaotic show that I played (along with Jason Forrest and Nero's Day At Disneyland of Cock Rock Disco, and Vankmen of fap*) at 5lowershop in San Francisco:

Man, writing blogs sucks. But what is great is that Daly City Records (a real record label that actually promotes and sells music, unlike my own Motion Recordings) is going to release my next album. It's going to be mostly new and unreleased material, despite its title: Greatest Hits (Ha Ha Ha) Vol. 1. It will be awesome, and it will feature Warrior Queen, with some bonus remixes by Mochipet, The Teknoist, and Captain Ahab of Deathbomb Arc. Hopefully it will be out by October or November.

Oh yeah - what about the other people on the "label"? Demune is still toiling away in his laboratory, Pierre Pre$$ure is on drugs somewhere, Hairdresser Mike is being taken advantage of by breathtakingly gorgeous women in Maui, Captain Daydream is doing a paper machet project, and DJ 0.000001 is scanning the internet for the hot new MP3 downloads from obscure Third World countries.

One more bit of news: I'm officially changing my name from The Mole to Th' Mole. Deal with it.

Love,
Th' Mole
